How to create a Pay per Click Campaign on Google?

In this section, we will examine 12 steps to create “sponsored links” campaigns on Google. Yahoo and MSN offer pretty much the same options and functionality as Google.

1. Go to: http://adwords.google.com/select/Login

2. Sign in with your actual Google Account details or create a new Google Account. Otherwise, you can click on “try Adwords now”. We advise you to use directly the “Standard Edition” and follow all the registration process.

3. Create a new campaign.

4. Languages: select the languages your customers speak. It’s advised to select only one language, even if Google offers to select multiple languages for a campaign, because you will be able to display ads only in one language at the time. If you want to target several languages we advise you to create a different campaign by language that your customer speak.

5. Location: choose countries where you can deliver your goods or services. It’s a good practice to target for a specific language only countries that speak this language. There is no need to target all the countries in the world who speak English.

6. Create an ad respecting the character limitation.

9. Daily budget: insert a daily budget you are comfortable with.

10. Max CPC:  you can use the traffic estimator to see if your max CPC is correct.

11. Set up billing.

12. Adwords assign automatically a name to your campaign and ad group. You will be able to change their names later. For campaigns, by clicking on Edit campaign settings and for ad groups, by selecting the ad group and clicking on rename.
